“Partnering with each patient is a privilege and the results can be life-changing, which is why I love what I do.”
Kristine Kjolhede, APRN, MSN, FNP-C, is a certified family nurse practitioner and founder of THRIVE Hormonal Health and Wellness, PLLC
Born in Dayton, Ohio, Kristine was raised on a horse farm near Columbus, Ohio until her father’s retirement from the Air Force prompted the family’s move to Boerne, Texas, a short distance from his hometown of San Antonio.
Kristine attended Texas A&M University, graduating with a B.S. in Meteorology in 1989. She spent the next 20 years forecasting and broadcasting weather to millions of viewers in markets like Waco, Austin, and the Dallas/Fort Worth area. In 2007 Kristine saw a need to help alleviate fear and educate young children about severe spring and winter storms, prompting her to write a series of children’s books and hosting weather education seminars for teachers.
In 2009 Kristine felt a calling to help others in a more personal way, through the art and science of medicine. In 2013, she graduated Magna Cum Laude from University of Arlington with a B.S. in Nursing. While working as an ER nurse with Cook Children’s Medical Center, she continued her education earning her M.S. in Nursing from Maryville University and certification in Family Practice in 2017.
During this 8-year journey, Kristine grew to realize the sick-care model of caring for her patients wasn’t working, and discovered, personally, the miracle and benefits of bio-identical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT). In 2018 she was trained and certified in the EvexiPEL method, and has never looked back!
Helping hundreds of men and women ages 30-80 get well and thrive through hormone optimization, Kristine addresses the root cause of so many health issues including: anxiety, depression, weight gain/muscle loss, sleep and sexual performance disorders, loss of mental clarity, vitality, and overall sense of well-being.
When Kristine isn’t practicing, she loves sharing the Hill Country life with her husband and 2 furry family members, while being a proud mother to her 22-yr old son (studying at Texas A&M University), and her 19-yr old daughter (studying at Indiana University as a scholarship volleyball athlete).
Tops on Kristine’s to-do list include: Long hikes, running, cycling, working in the yard, and cooking for family and friends.
